Eurovision: Jedward rock and Norway is hot

Eurovision 2012

IRELAND - Jedward, the gift that keeps on giving

Surely Ireland will select them again for Eurovision? The boys were brilliant all through the two weeks in Dusseldorf last year and we have high hopes for them in Baku. Eschewing last year’s electro-pop, the twins have gone all Busted with the very catchy Water Line.

Listen closely and you can hear Bucks Fizz, Tiffany, Blinded By The Light….

NORWAY – A hoodie you’ll want to hug

Already selected for Azerbaijan is Tooji. Very much following the template followed so successfully by Sweden’s Eric Saade last year (and even had the same production team), Stay is a dance track filled with all the right kind of 2011-2012 eurodance noises plus the eastern-influenced production that does so well in the Eurovision public vote.

And – in a nice rebuke to white nationalist ANders Breivik – Tooji Keshtkar is an Iranian born immigrant, whose family moved as refugees to Norway when he was one. Aside from pop and modelling commitments, Tooji’s day-job is as a child-welfare officer for the city of Oslo, often working in asylum centres.
