Now let’s get this out of the way – I am the most overt alpha male you will ever meet, I positively exude omnipotent masculinity and I create an aura of male pheromones that can digest solar systems. Also, I absolutely luuuuuuuuurrrve the Step Up movies. I mean I genuinely love them, in a unironic way – I truthfully have an unabashed appreciation for these movies, and dance movies in general.

Of course I don’t watch them for their fantastic acting, snappy dialogue and potent social comment – I watch them for their jaw-dropping dance sequences. Of which there are plenty, and they’re all amazing. The Step Up series has generally proven the best of the genre, easily beating our Streetdance movies, with each one besting the previous in terms of awesome dancing. That was until Step Up 4: Miami Heat, which although good, dispensed with the ‘dance-battle’ storyline of almost every street-dance film ever made, and went for much less-impressive flash-mob style dance scenes. I was not happy at all.

Either way, it was worth a watch, and to help you guys out, I’ve made a handy little table comparing all the Step Up movies so you can decide which one to watch, if any.

That is, if you haven’t seen one yet – in which case, good luck ever trying to speak to me.

OBVIOUSLY THE TABLE IS TOO SMALL TO READ AS IT IS, SO CLICK ON IT TO VIEW THE WHOLE THING. I’M NOT SO GOOD AT COMPUTERS, SORRY (If you click it again it zooms in even further).

Step Up 4: Miami Heat is in cinemas Friday 10th August.
